Who designed The Cumberland?

After purchase of the iconic Cumberland Hotel, it was decided to contract a professional designer who could restore The Cumberland with its unique art deco history whilst adding new funky modern features that would enhance the hotels public areas.

The lobby was tastefully restored with a unique new marble CH floor, Italian marble fireplaces were bespoke made as was the carpet which was taken from a pattern book in the 1930’s, a replica of a classic Art Deco pattern made for a famous London Hotel in the Art Deco boom period.

Furniture was designed and manufactured by a local bespoke furniture company whilst much of the ceiling features, lights and wall panelling were restored or redesigned to fit in with the new look Cumberland.

Mirco & Mirco are responsible for the beautiful design and styling of the Cumberland Bournemouth’s grand interior.

Sue Mirco of Mirco & Mirco has achieved the ultimate by bringing the Cumberland Bournemouth back to its orignal glory, it true Art Deco form.
