The Cumberland Bournemouth is now rated 88% after an AA Inspection
“Cumberland Hotel will retain its’ current Three Star Hotel rating and have an increased Merit Score of 88% and
Two Rosettes for cooking. It was good to meet with Kevin, Pat and Helder, discuss the trading year so far, their
future plans, and my stay at length. They are thanked as ever for their time and hospitality. It was good to view
the rooms again and see that standards are being well maintained and in many cases improved since our last
visit. Service and hospitality are hallmarks of the operation, and Kevin and his team set a fine example.
Bedrooms and bathrooms are in sound condition and well maintained and presented with a programme of
refreshing ongoing at present in the Beach rooms. Dinner and breakfast were very enjoyable and improvements
have been made here too. A ceiling has now been reached with regard to Merit Score as discussed, but
continuing investment and improvements will help consolidate the extremely high score at future inspections.”
