Since purchasing the Cumberland Bournemouth in 2007, with an AA rating of 3 star 64%, the Cumberland has continued to increase its merit score year on year until a mystery inspection this past week resulted in the hotel being awarded the ultimate accolade of a coveted AA Food Rosette for its Ventana Brasserie, coupled with the highest AA 3 Star Hotel rating in Bournemouth and Poole.

Years of investment in refurbishment and staff training are responsible for this mammoth achievement.

Ventana Head Chef Gines Camillieri and his brigade are thrilled, what is even more amazing is that the Ventana Brasserie was merely an unused conference room just 4 years ago, and has quickly risen to become one of Bournemouth’s few rosette restaurants.

These latest accolades are on top of the recently awarded HRS National Hotel Excellence Awards for Marketing and Best Value Large Hotel in the UK and Northern Ireland and are the ultimate reward for Directors Kevin Wood, Brian Shone and Terry Taylor and their passionate team of professionals.

Continuing investment in the product and marketing even through these times of Austerity have ultimately paid off for both the Hotel and the UK’s most popular tourist resort of Bournemouth.

On top of these excellent flurry of accolades , the hotel occupancy has reflected the success rising from 54% in 07 to 89% in 2011, proving that investment and hard work pays off, even in tough times.
